As tipped by ALL ACCESS over a week ago (NET NEWS, 7/29), UNIVERSAL MUSIC GROUP has promoted ETHIOPIA HABTEMARIAM to SVP of MOTOWN RECORDS. It will be the first in a number of new appointments at of the storied label.

In addition, Ms. HABTEMARIAM has also been promoted to EVP/Head of Urban Music for UNIVERSAL MUSIC PUBLISHING GROUP. She previously served as SVP/Head of Urban Music for the company.

"ETHIOPIA represents the new breed of today’s best creative music executives," UNIVERSAL REPUBLIC and ISLAND DEF JAM MOTOWN Chairman/CEO BARRY WEISS said.
